play yard bassinet?

mommys that have used play yard bassinets... did you buy an extra mattress because the ones they come with are hard??? i used a crib with my oldest. im new to the bassinet thing...

I put one in there when she hit 6 months. Before that I would rather her have the firmer surface.

Wait and see what LO will accept sleeping on. Some will refuse a hard surface (wouldn't you? especially after being in a soft comfy womb for 9 months!!) My baby would only sleep on a proper bed, the bassinet and cosleeper travel cot type one were the biggest waste for us. I sold them and we coslept properly, it's been amazing

Yeah, honestly I coslept with my daughter 97% of the time. She hated her crib. She finally started sleeping in her bed once pre-k rolled around. lol

I brought mine for target $100. i used mu daughters from NewBorn-13. Months then i switched to her crib which is still her day bed now
