opinions please

today I had a routine check up after talking to the midwife while I was sitting, I started getting dizzy lightheaded and like tunnel vision/doubled vision. I have problems with my blood pressure it crashes and then I pass out but it is different when I'm pregnant. the midwife sat with me and DH for a few min and it wasn't getting better, she had me lay down and then told me whenever I felt better to get up just be careful and then left the room. A nurse came in awhile later and checked my blood pressure and it was 80/40 she stayed with me until I stabilized which took 45min and then walked out with DH and I. My typical episodes last only about 5 maybe 10 min at the most. My issue is the midwife didn't really seem concerned at all. I have only seen her for 1 other visit because my ob left a month ago. when I had the issues befor with my other 2 pregnancies my Ob would have me go in for monitoring and the trend tended to be that I was having contractions that were making my blood pressure crash. I got put on bed rest with my first. my midwife knows all of this and knows all about my history. DH and I were talking about a totally different subject and he randomly brought up that maybe we should look for a different doctor he just didn't feel comfortable with the situation today.. Im so torn on what to do. I was nervous about seeing her in the first place, not because of her by any means I just really dislike the only other OB that is there and if anything would happen or if it was her night on call I would be stuck with so I was wondering can you go and like interview ob's? I hate the idea of changing Drs at this point in my pregnancy but I keep having anxiety that something is going to happen.. should I stay or look into going some where else.. opinions please

If you are not comfortable (I wouldn't have been!!) I would definitely find a new dr!!

How many weeks are you? I know alot of doctors wont take you after a certain point in your pregnancy. I have heard of people interviewing doctors, but honestly I have never met anyone who has done it. I looked online and searched for doctors that had alot of great reviews from real women. I am now at a great place and love my doctor. Good luck!!

Throughout my first pregnancy, my instincts told me to switch doctors, but I didn't because they had me sign a bunch of paperwork during my first visit so I thought I wasn't allowed to or I'd not only owe them money but also have to pay a new doctor too. (still not sure how it would have worked out if I had switched like I wanted either, but just explaining why I was scared & ended up not seeing another doctor). Anyway, ended up being a bad experience overall & the worst part was the delivery with the doctor. He gave me an episiotomy, did something wrong with the stitches that took months to heal & about 15 months PP before I could even have sex without it being so painful I had to stop. He also used the vacuum to get DD out & it slipped off twice but he tried it a third time. Just the whole experience was bad, even the nurses at the hospital sucked. I luckily had a great nurse helping deliver & 1 good one other good one in the day shift during my 2 1/2 say stay.

Overall, I say go with your instincts! (P.S. sorry this was so long!!!)

I'm 22 weeks. that is what Im concerned about. the problem is there are so many Ob clinics and 3 hospitals to choose from I have asked friends and people for recommendations and of course everyone tells me something different some people say stay with the midwife, others say to get away from that clinic all together.

that is the thing. a month ago my gut was saying go somewhere else but since this one is so close I decided to give the midwife a try. I did first time I saw her she seemed really nice and I decided that I would go ahead and give her a try. but today made me feel uneasy and for DH to say something makes me really think maybe I should go else where..

Well IMO I would prob leave that clinic altogether. I was about 23 weeks pregnant when I switched doctors in my first pregnancy. I would deff start looking into it. Find out your options, and go from there. See if they will even let you switch to a different doc at the same clinic, and if not, then you know you need to find a whole new office.

I was thinking about making some calls tomorrow. there is only 1 other OB besides the midwife and I really dislike her(ob) because of her bedside manner and have had bad experiences with her in the past. I really miss my old ob but she moved across country so that is out of the question.
