FML.

Fml. I went to the clinic today to get my abortion done, and guess what smurfing stopped me as soon as we parked our car and got out? A smurfing protestor. She told me that god makes it so I'm not allowed to forget my decision and she showed me pictured of aborted babies. It took all I could not to cry. I didn't have the guts to do it right then and there. So tomorrow I'm calling up and making it for Saturday and I'm not letting them talk me out of it again. I'm just gonna ignore them and walk in. Ladies I was frightened to pull up and see those people. Its nothing I had ever experienced before.

I am sorry   nobody should ever be allowed to make people feel like that. You do what you need to for you and to hell with anyone else who has an opinion. They don't live in your skin or walk in your shoes. ~hugs

I'm so sorry, that's completely smurffy of them. You do what you need to do for yourself and screw what anyone else says. If its what's best in your situation, don't let some crazy protesters sway you.

It took ALL of my courage to even come up with this decision. My DH was so pissed because of what hell we've been through to make this choice. She made me feel like complete Smurf. She also showed me pictures of peoples babies that were gonna be aborted but the parents decided not to. And she also said something bout me sacrificing my babies life. Idk but by that point she made me feel LOW

She can take a photo of any baby and say that it was going to be aborted. It is just a nasty tactic that they play and they should be ashamed of themselves. They have no idea what torment it is to have to make that decision.

If she approaches you again say this "Animals eat their young when they aren't able to care for them or something is wrong with them. Would you prefer that I eat my child?"

My views on these things changed when I watch a dog spay turn into dog abortion. We got to look at the embryos, and if you didn't know exactly what they were, they looked like tumors.
There was no life in them.

Unfortunately I see these issues getting worse with the election coming up :/

These "issues" can't legally change no matter what side of the line a person stands on. It is a violation of medical rights.

I don't either... the way I see it, would you rather a child die in a somewhat "peaceful" way, or potentially be abused, or die in a horrific way?

I'm so sorry you had to go through this. That woman is ignorant and insensitive.
Does the clinic have Security? Maybe you can ask them if security can escort you on the day of your appointment if they do.
If not and someone approaches you again, tell them firmly that you aren't interested in hearing what they have to say and if they don't leave you alone you will consider it harassment.

I'm so sorry! I have to say though that the protesters are worse on the weekend. I had my follow up on a Saturday, and where there were only a few during the weekday, there were 20+ on the weekend. Good luck to you.
