How long did you wait to have sex after your c section?

6 weeks.

6 weeks. Same for vaginal and c section.

I had a vaginal delivery I started having sex a week and a half after delivery but I didnt tear bad only had 1 stitch which healed fast!

14 weeks. Right at 6 weeks when I got the go-ahead I was still bleeding and having gallbladder attacks. Got my gallbladder out at 8 weeks postpartum and wasn't allowed to have sex until I healed.

You are lucky you didnt get an infection.

4 weeks with my first.
Between 6 and 8 weeks with my second. Maybe longer...

That's my concern..better safe than sorry. *sigh*

i didnt til 10 weeks post after my c section because i wasnt cleared at 6 weeks. i blew a few stitches along the way and was still bleeding from my incision at 6 weeks/

I dont see how i'd get an infection if my little bitty tear was healed? My doctor was suprised on how fast it healed. All people are different though some heal faster then others! Just make sure your healed before you begin having sex again! (:

Its not all about stitches, its about your vag on the inside too... Again you are lucky you didnt get pregnant or an infection.

For others reading the dr.'s tell you to wait to have sex for 6 weeks because the likelihood of not only trauma but because all of us new mommies have a part of our cervix dilated after delivery still and introducing anything foreign into the vagina has a probability of introducing infection. and if are cervix is dialted few weeks after delivery the infection can easily spread to our uterus which has an open pathway to our blood stream.

That's why they most medical professionals will say NO douching, tampons or intercourse till 6 weeks.
