What's wrong?

My son eats a ton and I know he can't be hungry still. He eats about 4 ounces every 3 hours. After every feeding, he acts like he's starving.

I try a pacifier and he sucks it for a few seconds and spits it out. I give him my knuckle and he chews super hard on it and that's the only thing that gets him to stop crying.

He's been crying sooo much...I just don't know what to do.
He's only two weeks old.

Are you giving a bottle or from the breast? Maybe he's not getting enough or he needs a formula top up if he's hungry I would feed him

I was breastfeeding but he started spitting up really bad every time he ate so I switched him to Similac Sensitive for spit up. So you'd think he wouldn't STILL be hungry after 4 oz...

DD was eating 4 ounces every hour and a half or 2 hours for a long time and the doctor told us to feed her it. Is he a bigger baby?

If he's hungry, feed him. Simple as that. They know when to stop.

maybe after youve tried everything else feed him......... i feed my little boy every 1.5 - 2hrs at that age and now being 3months he eats every three to 4 hrs .

Growth spurt? Hang in there, just feed him when he's hungry.  

I read formula fed babies need 2.5 ounces per pound of weight per day on average.

My daughter was the same at that age. I felt like I had my boobs out allll the time. Just a massive growth spurt. It will happen every so often xx

My son used to appear as tho he was still hungry and its actually a sign of acid and wind, don't pat to bring up wind lay him over your right shoulder with both his arms above his head and rub upwards up his lefts side and he should bring all wind at once and hopefully that solves it, if not then try colic drops. I don't know what's available over there but I found gripe water a saviour! X

Make like 6 oz see how much he eats..he will probably eat 5 if so start giving him 5 at every feeding. Do you have slow medium of fast nipples?

The nipple is pretty slow, I use Similac Simply Smart bottles..the nipple is the first one for newborns. I am afraid that he won't stop eating when he's full. We first tried the regular formula that wasn't for spit up prevention and he would eat and eat and act hungry so I'd feed him more, I would burp him a lot but he'd still spit up. Same with breast milk. That's why I don't think he's hungry still..but I guess I could try feeding him more. I just hope he knows when to stop because I have no clue.

How much does he weigh? And how much spit up? Projectile or a little?

I'm guessing he weighs around 8 pounds or a little more. He hasn't had his next appointment yet so I'm not totally sure. It's not really projectile, but it's usually quite a bit. Not a little./

I'm wondering if he has really bad gas or something? I've noticed he's pretty gassy but I try to burp him a lot and I don't know what else I can do.

Ok good thats what you need is slow nipples. I was gonna say if you have medium or fast then he might be eating so fast before he realizes hes full. But it sounds like hes still hungry. Id try a 6 oz bottle tho... all you can do is see what happens. How big is he?
