He could have a tummy ache, and eating soothes him. My nephew was bad like that, where he would be nursing for hours and act starving after eating. He was finally diagnosed with colic and couldn't lay on his back. Poor bean had to sleep in his swing at an angle for most of his life  

My son did that so I upped the amount and he was fine. Like some else said: they'll stop feeding when they're full. If he is finishing the whole 4oz he might still be hungry.

Id feed him as much as he wants. And you say he is real gassy? Do you use gas drops? My daughter was like that for a couple months i rubbed her tummy kinda hard it helps alot.

This sounds a lot like my son..he is always really gassy and it makes me wonder if he is having tummy problems.

I'm going through a similar thing. I've noticed rocking him then swaddling him is helping. The other thing I'm noticing is sometimes he needs more gas to escape too. I am also stiff struggling too. Went on the forum to write a new post about having the same problem. Onyl thing is with mine he is not bringing up any milk so not sure if it is a growth spurt? He is nearly 3 weeks old. He is feeding many times every hour - so exhausted!!

Will keep an eye in that. Today for the first time he was sick 3 times within an hour which i guess can be relating to reflux, but it is the first time he was sick that much. Usually it is once a day he is sick, so does that still mean acid reflux?

Could be a growth spurt or maybe reflux. Does he fuss when he feeds? Arch his back? Spit up often? Scream after most feeds? If yes it sounds like reflux.

DS does the same thing. I dont know how much he drinks since we BF but he can clear out both boobs, spits up a ton (which the doctor says is normal) and then want more... I just latch him back on. In my case, doctor says its a growth spurt and it will pass. I say give him more, see what happens, and then ask the doctor at the next visit.
