back pain a few months after epi

posted 24th Oct
So i had dd June 30 and ended up getting the epi a few weeks ago my back has really started to hurt and it hit me that it circles right around where the epidural was. It hurts so damn bad esp at night and when i try to sleep it radiates all up and down my back. Anyone have this and any sort of relief for this?

Thanks!

I'm not sure.. my mom had one with me and had similar problems so she didnt get them with my younger brother or sister and pretty much told me to stay away from epidurals. But I will be watching for future references

Ii had this issue when I got an epi with my son in 2005.....it took months for the pain to go away but still happens here and there. I just see a chiropractor twice a month now. Didn't get the epi this delivery and it was way better. Hope it goes away....that was so crappy pain...do you get numb too? My back would go numb when I would lean over to change diapers

I got the shot in the back and i have pains also. I have to have my husband pop it and rub it with a lot of pressure before it will go away which is usually a couple of hours after he has done both of those things.
Maybe try laying flat on the floor for a min. Then lay on your right side and twist your left shoulder back behind hind you towards the ground And then flip and do it with the right shoulder. Just get your back to stretch out and relax. It doesn't help much when you also have to hold the baby.

Yes that's exactly what it does then it will just ache! Worse when laying down. It sucks thought i was in the clear and it just started a few weeks back. I wasn't even gonna get the epi but i got stuck at 8 cm for hours because i was so tense so i really ended up with no choice. And now its just terrible.

You're telling me! My girl weighs 16 pounds already. Carrying that carseat is terrible too and constantly bending down. Everything is just making it worse

Oh i know. I thought gaining 30lbs all in my tummy was horrid during pregnancy. I don't think many people stop and think, oh crap once this thing gets out i'll be starting all over!
But i know just having my husband put a lot of pressure on my back makes it feel so much better. Kind of like fighting pain with pain i guess lol. Could just be me tho.
