high rubybellon levels

posted 24th Oct
The baby has high rubybellon levels and they wanted to keep him for light therapy over night again but I talked the doctor into letting me try at home first. I only have until tomorrow morning so what can I do to help him besides sunlight and breastfeeding?

Bilirubin* ;) Is it possible to get a bili blanket so he can have the lights at home? LO was preemie and they sent him home the day after I had him with a blanket. He wore that for a week and a nurse came everyday to check his levels.

I should ask about that.

Yes, definitely. It's still a miserable process to have him on lights, but it takes a lot of stress off to have him at home with you.

Lots of sunlight, breast feeding and vitamins help. Is he on any vitamins? might be something to ask the doctor too   my son was born at 30 weeks and had very high Billirubin levels it eventually went down enough where he no longer needed light therapy but he was still yellow-ish when he came home after being in the NICU.
