Don't use a menstrual pad. It wont let your boobies breathe and could cause major problems.

Really I didn't know that ugh if I don't wear a nursing pad my bra will be soaked!! Why would it cause infection? Cause the pads are too thick n my boobs can't breath?

You can wear pads. They are designed to let your foofi breath so they'll do the same to your boobs.
Besides you'll take it off regulary everytime you feed your baby so your boobs can breath then.

A lactation consultant. If you use something that can't let air through, it traps the moisture in which in turn causes a breeding ground for bacteria and can cause Mastitis.

There are a lot of chemicals in disposable pads---so wip your nips before you nurse each time!!!

And think about switching to cloth breast pads! Much better for you, baby, budget, AND the environment!

Pretty much. Think about it. Pads are designed to trap and lock period blood, therefor, it wont let air through and bacteria can breed.

Thanks for the info. That is why I won't breast feed I'm scared something like that will happen

Not unless you dip the pads in cyanide :/
Lol but seriously they will be fine until you get some more boob pads, you may find your boobs sweat a little more but its ok, normal breast pads make me sweat and my boobs haven't fallen off. Besides that's better than letting them fester in a wet milky bra where you've leaked.

Just air your boobs regulary and clean your nips before feeding.
