hard spot on breast

posted 23rd Oct
So I'm EBF and I just noticed on my left breast (on the top) that I've got this hard spot. It feels almost like I'm engorged but only in this spot and it doesn't hurt. Also, when my son has latched on to that breast it hurts, and it normally doesn't. What does this sound like? I'm going to call my doctor but I wanted to ask if anyone else has had something like this...

Possibly a clogged duct. Massage it, and pump when baby isn't nursing to help open it up.

Run a hot bath and lay breasts down in it. And nurse on all fours, the gravity will help it unclog too.

if it dosnt hurt yet that's good, just massage it out when u feed baby, I have 2 lumps in my right breast, they are tumers, but not cancer, andt they don't hurt so if the massaging dosnt help get tid of it maybe ask for an ultrasound, they check mine by ultrasound once a year... goodluck...

Is there a certain way I should try to massage it out?

Like ur squeezing toothpaste outta the tube kinda?? Loli used to just rub it and push ourwards when baby was sucking, or with a heat pad, I leave it on the spot for a while massage for a while while I reheat and do it again... it takes a day or 2

Thanks! Also, I just noticed I have a hard white spot on my nipple, like the part where the milk comes out. Does this happen with clogged milk ducts?

Nurse, nurse, nurse!! And get on all 4's (well free one hand) in a hot bath and massage the lump.
If you dont, it can turn into an infection.... mastitis! I just got over mastitis, which they gave me antibiotics (keflex) for and that damn medicine gave DS thrush so now I have to give him drops in his mouth twice a day

Thanks! Last night I looked up all sorts of ways to help get rid of it, and its already gone actually. I was using warm compresses, massaging it, nursing and pumping, then I noticed the milk blister popped and nursed and pumped some more. The hard spot hasn't been there since last night, but I've been doing that stuff all day to make sure it stays that way.

Yay! Ugh I wish I would have been smart enough to post something about it when I got it, but I just thought it came with engorgement and would go away on its own so thats when it turned into an infection (with a constant 103 fever -_-) but yaaay! I'm kinda like proud feeling right now,   haha

Haha I actually wouldn't have even posted if it wasn't for my husband. I mentioned it because I thought it was weird to feel engorged only in one spot, and he said to call the doctor since it was in one spot and there wasn't pain (he's super paranoid because his mom just got over a breast cancer scare) so naturally I come to BG for advice haha. I hadn't even heard of clogged milk ducts before.
