Should I be concerned...

posted 23rd Oct
I went to the doctor today and my doctor told my that my uterus was measuring very large, she wasn't very clear on why or what that meant/could mean.... So I looked it up online and results said it could mean two babies (But I know there is only one) Or extra amniotic fluid...
I'm 33 weeks pregnant... Should this be a concern? Or what else could mean? If anyone knows :/

it could be extra fluid. if there is TOO much, she would have told you and given restrictions probably. i'd call them and ask if she could elaborate a little

i dont see how it could be a big issue   if anything i would think that means more room for baby. and extra fluid is nothing to worry about unless there is an abundant amount. my fluids measure at a 12 and they say a 5 is normal? so idk but my OB is not too worried about it..yet...good lluck

5 is actually low. they induced my first son when i got down to 5. i think 10-18 is normal.

It could mean a couple different things. You could just have a "big" baby or baby could be positioned a certain way and causing you to measure a little big, or yes you could have extra amniotic fluid. Are they wanting to do another u/s to check growth etc.? That's usually how they figure it out.

she didn't say anything about checking into any further, she's kind of a weird doctor, like she's really rude. I tried to ask her more questions on it but she usually just hurries through everything and tries to get me out of there within 10 or 20 minutes :/ I never get to ask her any questions..
But as far as I know, she's not going to do anything about it or check into at all..
I'm thinking my baby is just a little big.. My SO was a 10 and a 1/2 pound baby, so maybe it's just her being huge lol

How many weeks are you and how far ahead did you measure? Have you measured ahead the whole time or is this a sudden thing? Measuring ahead is fine as long as your growth is consistent. They don't concerned unless you make sudden changes, like if you've been measuring on track the whole time, then all the sudden you measure like six weeks ahead. That would be concerning.

I'm 33 weeks and I measured only a couple weeks ahead.
She said my uterus is measured at 37 it's supposed to be at 30 and it's just all of the sudden cause when I saw her two weeks ago I measured at 29..
and she didn't act concerned, she just said that it was strange.

So two weeks ago you measured 29 cm and now you're measuring 37 cm only two weeks later?? If that's the case then you need to be calling your doctor and demanding an u/s.

She won't do it, I'm 33 weeks pregnant and they still haven't given me an ultrasound! I've had to go to special clinics and pay for them... I'm going on Thursday to get a 3D ultra sound, will that show if anything is wrong??

Not unless the tech does measurements and sends it to a radiologist.
