TMI but i have to ask..

So i had my son 11days ago via c section and im currently breastfeeding (not that its going all so well right now) so i dont have a "period. I bleed randomly usually when im nursing. i can go most of the day with a clean pad. However, lately when i have used the bathroom i have this foul smell. Its totally barf worthy. When i wipe its like mucus. I wouldnt say its green really, its more kinda clear with a spot of blood. This has happened since last night. I know you all arent doctors but i was wondering if anyone else has had this or may have a clue if its something i should worry about. Its kind of embarrassing so i figured i would ask here before asking my doc. Which i will if i have too.. Any ideas?? TIA

Your discharge should not have a foul smell. I'd call your OB and ask to be seen asap to check for infection.

sounds like it could be an infection- I would call my OB and explain to them.

It could be an infection. However I thought I had one too because no joke my pp bleeding smelled like rotting flesh. No matter how many times I showered and no matter how clean I kept myself it just smelled terrible. My OB checked me and said, nope no infection. some woman just have a foul smelling post partum bleeding. Which sucks. My normal periods don't smell. But every time I pulled down my pants, I would almost hurl. It came down to the point whenever I peed, instead of wiping I just took a shower and washed my body.

Pretty much same thing happened to me.

It's normal to have a bigger loss when nursing, it releases oxytocin which causes your uterus to contract, forcing out more blood. It's one of the reasons why most BF moms find their tummy goes down quicker.

As for the smell a certain amount of smell is OK, I mean your uterus is shedding blood, tissue and mucous but if it's really bad I'd see your doc.

It SUCKED. And I had a vaginal delivery, so I bled like that for 6 weeks. Even my BD (SO at the time) would walk into the bathroom to make sure I was okay, and say thinks like... Baby no offense but the smell is terrible and stuff. He's. the one who made me get checked for infection. He Didnt mean it to offend me. But it was super noticeable. I wouldn't want anyone coming near me anymore

I delivered vaginally as well. I would not let SO in the bathroom at all LOL. I was too embarrassed. I wouldn't even go at family's places either. I would ask to be taken home (a little much I know). I was glad when it was over though!

PP bleeding will have mucous and it may have a fouler smell if you are shedding old blood which starts happening after the first week or so. I would think if you had an infection you'd be running a fever as well. But idk for sure.

That's what my dr said too.

I know it smells bad at first but im not even really bleeding anymore. its just mucus. And i was fine for a day or so. I stopped bleeding besides the occasional rush and there was no smell or discharge. Then all of a sudden last night it started with the smell and mucus like discharge. There is just a pinch of blood just enough to make it pinkish red.

I hope it goes away soon. I have the baby blues and cry at everything. I wanna cry at the thought of someone being down there right now. I dont think i could do it  

If its normal, how long should it take to go away? Or does that varry as well? I know im being stubborn but this is gross.
