Birth control..?

I'm looking into Paragard because it's non-hormonal yet could cause heavier bleeding during menstruation. I've also looked into Mirena because supposedly it lightens periods & I usually have a heavy flow.

What type of birth control (besides abstinence or condoms) would you mommies recommend getting?

I wouldn't use any IUDs personally. They will abort a fertilized egg pretty much if fertilization happens.

Copper iud's such as paragaurd can "abort" a fertilized egg, but they're also meant to stop fertilization. They irritate th uterine lining making it difficult (near impossible) for the egg to implant. I had a copper IUD for 9 months and was really happy with it. No worrying about missed pills or anything and my periods were only slightly heavier. Took it out in August to ttc, otherwise I would have kept it for a long time.

Get the Implanon it's a 4year non hormonal bc that goes under the dermis of your arm. I have it and love it.

I just go the Paragard 6 weeks ago and other than bleeding since insertion it was pretty good. That is until now since my body decided it doesn't like it and is slowly expelling it. I go to the doctor tomorrow to see whats going on and to get it taken care of. Since its pretty much my only option for birth control(I have health issues and can't take estrogen) unless I want to get fixed or go on something that I dont have a period I will be getting another one. I just hope it stays put next time......

I was told implanon is a hormone birth control...

Anyways. I had paragard. I loved it. My periods were as heavy as normal. And were always on time. I never had break through bleeding. It was awesome.
