Dark bags under childs eyes?

posted 22nd Oct
My son is 4 y/o and for the longest time he's had dark bags underneath his eyes. He sleeps 10-11 hours at night, he's adequately hydrated throughout the day.. and about every other day he takes a nap (he's growing out of the nap stage).. what gives? Is this something to worry about? I was just looking at him and right now they're really dark like he hasn't sleep in days, but he's not tired.

I have hereditary dark circles, so does DH and just about everyone else sibling wise. When I'm sick or really tired it looks like I got sucker punched in both eye sockets. Blah.

My old PED said it could anemia. Then another one said it could be from his not sleeping very much. He doesn't sleep very much any more. If he takes a nap at 2 to 5 he'll go to bed by 8:30 pm; then wakes up at like two or three going through the fridge and pantry for food. He'll be seeing another doctor that specialized in that stuff. I'm going to take him to an ear, nose and throat doctor.

Is it just dark under his eyes, or does it look like black eyes?
