TBH I don't know how you would pay, there's not really like a place to do billing or anything, you would just walk in and insist you left your health card at home. I don't even know where the smurf my healthcare is, I don't think I've ever used it.

I have no desire to go to any southern state. Too hot haha. Plus Michigan has virtually no natural disasters. I never want to experience a tornado, hurricane, or earthquake. Thanks but no thanks.

I hope you have your answers by now but just remember to go to your local DHS (department of human services) in the county you move to and fill out the aplication for Medicare. Michigan will fast track it for you so that you will be covered starting then. You will also be covered for the first 6 weeks after the baby is born and your child will stay on MI Child until they are 18, assuming you never move out of the tax bracket your in. Good luck in Michigan, it is a beautiful place to live. My husband and I actually just moved from there to WI because of family but we both miss the beauty of it.
