No 6 week pp visit?

posted 22nd Oct
So I had a stillbirth 5 weeks ago at 25 weeks. I had a 2 week pp visit. They weighed me and checked my blood pressure. Asked me if I was feeling depressed and if I wanted birth control. My blood pressure was a little high so I had to go back at 3 weeks pp to check it again. At that vist it had gone down a little but was still high. My nurse spoke with the doctor and he said for me to come back in 3 weeks for them to check it again. She said he was convinced it would be normal by then. Anyways he said I didn't need a 6 week pp visit just the nurse visit. Is it normal to not have a pap done after giving birth. I had no tears or anything and stopped bleeding six days after. I'm just wondering if this is normal after care for delivering a stillborn because I also got the clear to have sex again at the 2 week appointment. Do they just treat it as a miscarriage? I'm just wondering if this is normal or maybe if I should see a different doctor?

I've never had a pap after giving birth. The only reason I took my pants off at my 6 week visit was for a colpo (i think thats right) to check my cervical cancer cells.

Sorry for your loss. =(

My 23 weeker (live preterm birth) was treated like a full-term birth as far as after-care.

Ok thanks ladies. I guess it is normal. It seems after my other kids I had a pap? Maybe they were just checking my stitches? Well at least I know it's normal.
