Birthing Center.

I'm due in either late December or early January. I am thinking about a birthing center birth, instead of a hospital birth. Do any of you have any experience with a birthing center birth? What is expected?

Call the one you're thinking of having your LO at and they will do a tour and answer all of your questions. I had DD in a birthing center. I loved it. This baby, I'll be having him in a hospital since I moved. I wish I could have him in the same place as DD. The birthing center was amazing!

have had all three of my kids in a free standing birthing center and loved all three births. Its much more relaxed. Call and get a tour and meet all the midwives at the center. Ask them about there policies and just generally what they do for the moms during and after the baby is born. At my birth center its run out of a space attached to my attached to my midwives home so there's only one room to birth in. So I had to talk to my midwife about what would happen if there was someone else in labor at the same time as I was . Ask about the different birthing options they have like the birthing ball, stool, or tub and ask about how they plan on supporting you during your labor. Just be open with them. I loved my birthing center it was very relaxing.
