I'm a blubbering mess :(

posted 22nd Oct
My great grandmother died last night. She was 95. I knew it was going to happen. I knew she was suffering and this is for the best, yet I can't stop crying. I'm a total mess. She meant so much to me

And the real piss off? None of my family showed up, it was just me and her care giver that came to the hospital after we got the call. They all knew, all of them, none of them came. Oh, that's not true - my Uncle's girlfriend came and cleared out her purse/jewelery, etc so that "you know who won't come and steal it" (meaning one of my cousin's, who they don't like, but who hasn't ever stolen from Gran). She was cleaning it out WHILE the pastor was there to pray. Yeah......

I understand, my great grandma passed away recently.
I knew it was coming and I thought I was prepared, but when I got that call I was extremely upset.
Sorry for your loss <3

So sorry for your loss. My great grandparents passed away when I was 9. I swear my great grandma still lives through my middle daughter. I remember when we used to go visit her she used to say "Well HI" in this kinda high pitched, sweet great grandma voice and now when I get my baby up from a nap, my 3 year old say that to her in the same voice, exactly how she said it. Hopefully your family will get the sticks outta their asses. That always makes it harder to deal with... Praying for you.

So sorry for your loss. Even though its for the best, it's still so heartbreaking letting someone you love go.

I've learned the hard way that you never truly know some people until a family member passes away and leaves behind valuables. I've lost complete contact with several family members because of this. It's so sad. Why care about possessions during this time, you know?

You're in my thoughts today!

i'm so sorry, dear. i'm sorry you're going to miss your grandma, but it's good to hear she's not suffering. my grandpa died a few years ago from cancer and the end of it was terrible

death seems to usually bring out the worst in a person (close family). it's so sad, but it's so true. a friend of mine's uncle recently died. while he was still in the hospital, without a prognosis even, people were going through his things, taking his stuff, driving his car, staying at his house. literally ALL of those things happened. he has died now and i don't know what's going on with her family. we go to school together and we're on a break right now.

you should find out if your grandma had a will or anything like that. i know it's definitely not something you want to think about, but if someone doesn't find out about it, it's going to get bad if they're already going through her purse

i'm so sorry... i'll be thinking about you.

Big hugs, I am so sorry hun. She was so lucky to have someone like you to love her so much. Feel sorry for the rest of them, they didn't have the opportunity to bond with your Gran like you did-plus Karma will come back to bite them in the ass.

So sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I too lost mine five years ago and I miss her dearly. It took me close to a year to get over the loss and I don't think you ever fully do. Sending you warm wishes and hugs!

Now I'm a blubbering mess.
I am so, so sorry. People are smurfing smurffy.
I lost my great nanny almost two years ago, though it feels like yesterday. I miss her more then I could possibly tell you. She too was 95. I wish I could tell you it's gotten easier, but it hasn't. Though I'm not good with grief, I still cry when I think about her or when people mention her name.
Luckily she had no possesions that would be considered valuable. My family would have had a smurfing war. It's so sad that greed is always the first thing to kick in.
I'm sorry for your loss <3 If she is anything like my nanny I'm sure she is up there making up for lost time with her husband and enjoying being 30 forever (because that's what Sylvia Browne says and my nanny was always a huge fan, and I believe her too)

Thanks ladies.

The family issues go back so much further, they've spent all the money she had because they are attempting to keep it from my 3 cousins it's willed to (another long story, but the will got changed to just those 3 when thier father, who was dying of lung cancer, took Gran to the lawyer after she had a stroke. They literally left the hospital from her refusing treatment and took her to the lawyer!)

Now, they are trying to change the funeral arrangments that she had made and paid for herself 25 years ago..... they suck.
