Getting induced in a few days...

posted 20th Oct
...due to very aged placenta. I want to go into labor all natural though. Babies head is very low. Doctor said pressing right on the cervix. 25% effaced, and cervix is moving lower. Haven't been checked for dilation since Friday, but Friday there was none. So what are some ways to naturally induce? Or at least to get labor going?

Tried walking, sex, nipple stimulation, getting on all fours and rocking hips back and forth, side to side (I think that's why baby is so low now, because I did that the day before she dropped.) Walking up and down stairs. I live in apartments so I have to walk up and down stairs multiple times a day. I don't want to try anything that could possibly harm the baby, so no castor oil for me. But any other suggestions?

**I know baby wont come until she's ready. Doctor said he thinks she could possibly be ready some time this week, and I'm desperate to not have to be induced, so just throw what worked for you my ways ladies!

You've tried most of it. Maybe try some evening primrose oil to help soften/ripen your cervix.

When I was 39 weeks with my second I bounced on a exercise ball for awhile. The next morning when I got out of bed my water broke.

I was hoping there was some secret way that would magically work.   And I'll check it out! My next doctors appointment is Friday, and my doctor wants to set the induction up for Monday. He was going to do it this week, but I told him I'd prefer to not be induced, so he said Monday, because he doesn't want me to carry over, and DD is that Monday. So when I go in Friday, if I have started dilating, I'm going to ask him to sweep my membranes as a last attempt to do it all on my own.

I don't have one of those, but if I sit on a stool will that be like sitting on an exercise ball? Someone else told me it was the same.

mmm I don't think so. I bounced pretty intensely, it would probably hurt to do that on a chair lol. The membrane sweep is a good idea though!   Good luck mama. I had to get induced and it wasn't too bad. Intense contractions but my labor progressed very quickly.
