Moving with my daughter. advice plz.

hey guys its been awhile. let me cut to the chase.
I am looking to relocate to Texas or Chicago.
which is better for a single mom with a two yr old. I want an affordable place safe community, job opportunities, affordable daycare cost.
i need a new start i know its going to be hard at times it is going to take lots of plans and saving. but im up for it. i need to get out of Miami.

Chicago is definitely not what you want then.
The price of living is ridiculously high there, and it's not the safest place to live either.

Where in Texas? There is a huge difference from say El Paso and amarillo.

I would choose Dallas over Chicago.  

im not sure where in texas but i was researching online and it seems that texas had more pros over texas. im looking to visit texas in january lords willing.

I lived in TX for 5 years. I HATED every second. I wouldn't go to dallas on vacation if you paid me. Dirty, hot, and GROSS. Not to mention not very diverse.

Chicago is wonderful town w/lots of culture, lots to do.

If you insist on going to TX (which I would avoid like the plague!) I'd move to Austin. Again, lots to do, plenty of culture, very diverse and you get the perks of living in a southern climate.

i dont mind the heat i was born and raised in Jamaica then came to Miami so the heat works with me...which is the best way to plan a big move???

I love Austin. I lived there for a year and really miss it. I would look at Round Rock or Pfluegerville which are smaller Towns really close to Austin. There is so much to do there!

Waco, Texas. It is actually really inexpensive. Right down the road from me they have 2 bed room all bills paid apartments for $500-600 bucks.

My mom lived there for a little while. Once you finish the program they help you get on your feet, even help you buy furniture. They help you find a job. And even have a free daycare there.


Only downside about Waco is there isn't alot of jobs.

Other downside? You have to deal with Baylor football instead of UT.
