it was very good not to have the hormonal side effects...
every person is different, so it might work out just fine for you! dosent hurt to try it, right!?

my periods did heavier and my periods lasted longer... ( i went from a 3 day cycle to a 6 day cycle) and ive had mine out since january, and my periods never went back to 3 days, but they did get lighter again.

good luck if you choose it!

At first I had really heavy periods and cramping but after a couple months that went away... still had a bit of heavy period but cramping, not so much.

Wow, I didn't realize it could come out unnoticed either, lol. Good luck next time if you don't get your tubes tied, and thank you for sharing!!

Ah, so symptoms subsided after a while. That's reassuring. I can live with heavier periods as long as there are no awful cramps. Thanks!

Lol neither did I but now I have a 2 year old little girl that I thought I couldnt get pregnant with. I will say though I am glad everything happened the way it did because I cant imagine my life with out her but at the time I was not even thinking about having a baby. In fact when I didnt get my period for almost 3 weeks late and I finally took a test I saw 2 lines and at that point I was like oh this must be one of the plus sign ones and this one is a negative sign till reality hit me that it was positive. Any way the first thought I had was ectopic pregnancy. I was more worried about losing a fallopian tube or something but like I said the darn thing was gone and I was pregnant. For all I know it came out a week after I had it put in and we just didnt get pregnant till my son was a year old or it came out more recently than that. The doctor said that it can come out during a bowel movement and it could be flushed down with number 2. I assume that is what happened because I would have noticed it come out in my underoo's.

Ah I see, well I''m glad it worked out and that it wasn't there so there wasn't risk of ectopic pregnancy. Hopefully mine stays put the whole time I need it in lol.

I'm getting my IUD out next month as I'm gonna ttc my 5th kid, I've had it over a year . I only got one because hormonal birth controls don't work for me. I really like it . I have not felt it at all, it has worked, no pregnancy whatsoever . I did have a scare at first but it was no big deal, false alarm. I will likely get one again after my next pregnancy or get something permanent after it. I like that it has no hormones so when I start to TTC it'll probably happen very quickly.

I just found out yesterday that my doctor office wont place a paragard because its a catholic hospital. WTF they told me that because the mirena has hormones that they can put those in because they can label it is something to help with irregular periods. This really sucks because I didnt want the mirena now I have to refigure smurf out all over again. I suppose I could go somewhere else and get the paragard but I am concerned I will procrastinate and with my luck put off going some where else and end up pregnant. UGH this is a real pain in the butt.

I'd say go for another place. Wouldn't go to the hospital like that .

Yeah I feel that way but I have bonded with my midwife and will be delivering in only a few weeks. I dont want to be forced into choosing the mirena just because of the stupid hospital. I dont understand it as I had one put in at that same place 4 years ago after I had my son. I do not know if this is a new thing or what but its bullcrap.
