When I had one the only thing I had was a heavier period. But never shorter time in between cycles. I suggest giving your doctor a call. That's odd with the copper iud.

my periods where pretty normal when i had my iud in sometimes they would change to shorter days and yes they were closer together i think mine where coming every 26 days

I got mine in August this year and at first my periods were every other week. FINALLY I'm on a "Normal" cycle.

I got mine in April of 2008 and I have my period very heavy and about every two weeks...they are always switching up and seem to always end up so close together!
