It sounds like it, it is more than likely part of your intestines coming out.

So gross. I hope that if it is a hernia it goes away on its own. I'm assuming it's pregnancy related... after two babies in two years I guess it makes sense.

definitely sounds like an umbilical hernia. i'm assuming you probably had diastisis recti with your pregnancies (well, at leas your second). i have it too, and i have an umbilical hernia. try doing the seated tuppler techniques (google this) and it may go away on it's own if it's small enough. if not, then you may need surgery if it's bothering you.

Yeah whatever it is it's definitely painful. Mostly just when it's sticking out, if I'm having coughing spells, or it gets bumped. I didn't have diastisis recti with my pregnancies which is so weird. However, when I delivered my daughter I was super sick. I hadn't been that sick since I had pneumonia as a child... well pretty much I had violent and constant coughing spells for about a month after her birth and it was then that I noticed the top of my belly button was really enlarged.. lol I could see it through my shirts. I thought I just had a lot of scar tissue. That is until this last couple of weeks I've noticed pain. (I'm currently sick again with the same horrible cough). I've literally been coughing so hard I throw up. That's when I notice it the most, and when I'm standing. I push it back in but it definitely hurts. It's irritating. Hopefully it goes away. I've been doing lots of plank exercises.. One thing I do know is hernias are very common in my family. My mom has had them, and I believe my aunts and grandma have had them too. My son also has an umbilical hernia but it doesn't seem to bother him.
