sewing mamas: quick question

I'm making a blanket. It's one layer of batting, one minky & one cotton. How do I want the tension & stitch length?

I would use a long stitch to baste the layers together, and then use a shorter stitch to finish it. You could also take a little sample of the fabrics and test which works best. <3

FML i need to go get heavier thread.

You should sew a little sample of the fabric just to make sure it will look how you want

Also just in case you did not know you should wash the fabric before you sew

It can be a regular thread for basting. It's just a temporary stitch to keep the layers together. When you're doing the final stitch, I would suggest a medium legnth stitch since you're working with Minky... It stretches a bit. I also learned that if you put the stretch fabric on the bottom, it warps less; unless you have a special foot that tops that, like a tephlon foot.

Looks great!!!   I've snapped MANY needles on those stupid pins. I have finally started taking them out before they get to the pin though. Great job mama!! <3

"fixing" it but now something is screwed up. it was fine ysterday, today the bobbin keeps jamming up. i quit.

Make sure your bobbin is going in the right direction, and the tension is correct. Also, when you first start sewing, hold the tails so they don't bunch up when you do those first few stitches.
