Nothing really prevents them, no matter what people will tell you. Stretchmarks and the likelihood of getting them are genetic.

What DOES help is doing mild stretches and exercises and staying as active as you can during pregnancy.

Cocoa butter is awesome though, so feel free to pamper yourself.   It does make the pain and itchiness that comes with the stretching a little better.

You cannot prevent them. If you're genetically prone, you're gonna get them.

You can keep your skin as elastic as possible by moisturizing and drinking plenty of water but stretchmarks are hereditary. If you're going to get them, you're going to get them. They aren't the end of the world.

No way to prevent them. I used cocoa butter and still have them. I heard it makes them lighter but idk mine are still noticeable.

I've been using rich cocoa butter for years now and mine did not go away.

I did not get my mom's "Did you have a baby or suffer a shark attack?" gene.

Haha. I still have them, but they don't bug me as much as they would if I had hers.

Haha! My mom's skin is so great, three kids and her skin looks fab.

One kid, mine looks like a deflated bagel balloon.

I've got the pooch, though. Her tummy is flat. I don't know which would be worse D:

with DS i had NO stretch marks...

this time around... i couldn't do anything to not get them. i've spent a good $100 on lotions and oils... drinking lots of water... all the things they say will "help" yeah none of them did. at first i was really upset now... it's like eh, who gives a smurf. i'm going to have my DD and if that means some stretch marks, i'll take it.
