Meningitis is a killer.

A girl in one of the mama groups I'm in lost her 16 day old baby boy yesterday to meningitis. He was in the hospital and it was caught early. Please pray for this mama. Her fiance lost his job this morning. I've been up all night and crying and working with other mamas to get an auction together for her. I just cannot imagine her pain.

how did the baby contract it?

That's terrible!   I couldn't imagine that happening...it'd break my heart.

Oh wow. I am so sorry. My mom almost died of meningitis when I was younger. Terrible.

That's so sad   I am so sorry for her loss.

How sad!   I bet he got it in the hospital too. A friend of mine got it in the hospital and died in 7th grade.

One day he was almost inconsolable. We all thought it was gas, next day he had a fever, she took him to the children's hospital and it was meningitis. They said it was bacterial and he would need to be there for 2 weeks, next day was 3 weeks and day after that he was gone.
