new born diapers

posted 17th Oct
So I told Dh that we needed to get some new born diapers and he got a small pack but didnt want me to open them incase he was to big for them. But even my 9lb 7 oz son wore them for a few weeks. So I told him if they didn't fit I would just give them to one of my sisters that are due after me. He seemed kind of annoyed at the idea but I don't know why. It was seriously a tiny pack and I think this baby is going to be smaller than his brother any way. And it even if he isn't it isn't like they will go to waste. My question for you is if you had a bigger baby like 8+ lbs how long were they in new born diapers if at all? Tia

My dd was in nb for a month and she gained weight fast. She had to have been at least 9-10 lbs when she outgrew them. It doesn't really matter how much they weigh. It matters how skinny they are. Dd had chicken legs the first month and would leak out of size ones. I think you're fine to open one small pack!!!

Both my boys were in newborn diapers for about a month. But it depends, I had a friend who had her baby grow out of newborn diapers within the first week after being born and her baby was 8lbs6oz I think? I know she was at least 8lbs. I don't see a problem with having newborn diapers, but I wouldn't stock up on too many. You can always buy more if you need it later.

My oldest was 8 lbs 6 oz, but a long torso and always went poo out the front and back. I probably should have just put him in size one.

I tried to put my oldest in NB but the straps wouldn't go around, she was 9lbs even. And my youngest wore size ones from the time she was born, but is 3 and a half months now and still in ones.
