Not sure if I should talk to my doctor about it or not...

Okay...so I have extremely narrow hips...I always have, and even being pregnant and even though they've spread a little...they're still narrow. At my last appointment I was 31 weeks, and they told me LO weighed about 4 1/2 lbs already...and I still have awhile to go. He's so big that I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead of what I should be. lol I'm not complaining about that, I'm thrilled he's healthy! I'm just worried about the birthing part of it...
There's no way I'm going to be able to push a 9lb baby out of me...it's just not possible. Even my doctor at my first appointment made a comment about my hips being narrow.
I kind of want to talk to her about just having a c-section...I know the recovery time is longer, but I really don't care about that. I mean there's worse things in the world than having a scar and a sore stomach. I just don't know how to bring it up to her...

Any advice or thoughts or anything?

How do you know you cannot push out a 9 lb baby? Small women do it all the time

I would give labor a chance before jumping into a c section

I am measuring 5 weeks ahead. I am 28 1/2 weeks measuring 33 weeks and baby weighs in at 3.6 pounds already. Your hips widen as the baby comes down, but it would never hurt to talk to your doctor about it if you are worried.

Sore stomach? AHAHAHAHA... it's alot more painful than that. It's major surgery that no one should voluntarily get. Been through it and not worth it!!

Your body will not make a baby to big to push out.
I've see girls with extremely narrow hips have giant babies just fine.

Give a vaginal birth a chance before jumping to a c section.

Wow, first off small women have big Babies daily. My daughter measured a week ahead for awhile, and was estimated to be 8-9 lbs off an ultrasound. She was only 6.4. Just because you're measuring ahead doesn't mean the baby is big, it could be how baby is laying or fluid. I think It's dumb to request a c section, like really? Why not try vaginaly? I had a c section and It's not just a scar... I couldnt get myself out for bed to feed or hold my daughter for 2 weeks and wasnt fully healed until 5 months pp due to an infection...you do not want one.

I have a small frame and my daughter was 9 pounds 1 ounce. It seriously doesn't make that big of a difference...

i have a similar problem and was induced with my first early because of it ...and i ended up with a c-section...not because of my hips or pelvis but because i didn't progress and Lo's heart rate started going up...if i had to do it all over again i would...but if you are concerned and think a c-section might be the best for you don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about it...maybe he or she can put some of your fears to rest..you will never know for sure what is safe for you until you talk to your dr. about all of your options.

I know surgery hurts...I've had 3 before on my stomach. I know it hurts and I wouldn't volunteer for it. I'm asking if I should talk to my doctor about it since LO is so big, and my hips are so narrow.

Like I said estimates are off, by a lot. My daughter was off by 3 lbs, it doesnt mean much. And you can still try, women that are small had big babies all the time. I had stomach surgery too before but it is way different from a c section. They slice you open and cut thru a ton of nerves and stretch/rip you open then tug the baby out. I have pictures that will probably change your mind lol.

I don't really know how to bring it up with her, and I don't want her thinking I'm opposed to vaginal birth...I'm not, I'm terrified of it yes; but not against it.

your doctor will know if your babyy is too big to push out. my cousin had a 9 puound baby and the doc told her she needed a c-section cuz she wasn't big enough to have her naturally but my sister in law who looks to be the same size as my cousin had a 10 pound baby naturally with no pain meds.
