I haven't seen her since my ultrasound...she was out and is gonna be until the appointment after next   The doctor I'm seeing while she's gone isn't helpful at all...she won't answer any questions my boyfriend or I have, she won't even look at us. I can't wait until my regular doctor is back! UGH

Woman have been having babies since the beginning of time. Even small girls having huge babies :p

Seriously, our bodies accommodate for what childbirth necessitates. You don't necessarily need a c-section because you are small.

I know it's not a "for sure can't have a vaginal birth" kind of thing...I just wanted to know if I should talk to my doctor about it so that I know of the possibility that it could be a c-section and how we can attempt to prepare if that's the case.

if it were me i would simply ask her if she feels your hips may be a problem..and what she would recommend ...she might suggest bringing you in early like my Dr. did although he believed from the start that i was going to end up with a c-section, there is no harm in asking and if you ask about all of your options she will now you are not leaning one way or the other just trying to prepare yourself for all of the possiblities...good luck talking to her i'm sure it will be just fine.

Even if you can't have the baby vaginally (and you'll probably be fine), doctors .. at least the good ones.... aren't going to jump right to surgery. They're going to wait and see if you progress during labor. If something happens to the baby during labor .. like low heart rate or fast heart rate or pushing without moving the baby down, then they'll start to consider the other options.

I'm high risk and I have growth scans and other ultrasound on the high resolution U/S machines every 2 weeks. They've been off by 2 lbs for 2 of my boys. That is a huge difference. The size estimate can get very tricky at the end because everything is so smooshed in there.

He's been measuring big the entire pregnancy :/ Everyone says he's gonna be a big boy. lol I just don't want to have to jump into anything without knowing what the hell is going to happen. Even if it's just for ease of mind

I feel like some of the replies to the OP are a tiiiny bit snarky. Its a normal fear isn't it? I guess - for me - I'd say have a conversation with your doctor. Don't beg for a C-section but its better to know your options and have a candid discussion with your doctor than suffer through the stress of it.

That's what I was going for...I just wanted to know if it was worth bringing up with my doctor, or if I should stay in the dark.

Thanks   I talked to her about it a little bit, and she said we'd talk more about it at my next appointment
