cleft lip/palate

I am 26 weeks with my 3rd baby, and I was informed that my baby would have a cleft lip and palate.(at my 18 week ultrasound) today I'm going in to get my level 2 ultrasound, I am so nervous ,and I haven't been able to stop thinking about my poor lil one and what he will have to go through,is anyone else going through this? Or went through it? I just can't stop stressing about it.

Aww, I haven't been through this but I'm sorry you have to go through it.  

they informed me of this as well not to long ago. just keep praying. my next appt with my OB he informed me that they teck may have mad a mistake and LO have one. have they been consistant with the information?? there are also lots of moms on here that have or had baby's with cleft lips. it's a fixable proceedure just take a deep breath.

I haven't been through that... But I'm sorry your so stressed out. Have you talked to your Dr about it at all yet?

Just came across this thread. I was informed after my 22 week ultrasound that DS had a cleft lip & possible palate. I know of one other mom here that has experience with this too if you need any questions answered

My mom went through this with me actually. I don't know when they first ultrasound they noticed was, or how far along she was. But at the follow up, I guess it had repaired itself at the last possible second. Or it was a mistake. I just have a weird palate but no one can really tell. My nostrils are shaped funny but you have to look up at them. It's an easy fix though. Even back in '93 they were prepared to set surgery before I was born. But never ended up needing it. Good luck.
