Free Birth Control?

posted 17th Oct
Do you think we should all be able to have free birth control? Why or why not?

I don't want to have to pay for every woman in the US to have birth control. There are cheaper solutions to birth control but I know a lot of it is very expensive. I think that they should be able to get it with their prescription plan (like Medicare part D) and pay a normal rate for it but I don't believe it joule have to be completely free for everyone.

I'd rather be paying taxes for every woman to have access to free birth control rather than paying for their government aid and for all the kids that go into the foster care system when their parents can't take care of them.

Yeah, I would rather pay for a woman to get birth control then to pay for her and her 30 kids to be on welfare.

how about MANDATED birth control for welfare queens? I'd rather pay for the gov't to give out free BC and for the gov't to raise the kids

I have been on both sides. When I needed assistance I got free birth control from Planned Parenthood. When I got insurance I was able to pay the rest of the cost for birth control.. $20 a month. If you truly need it for free you should be able to, but I'm sure it gets taken advantage of a lot.

We don't pay for birth control here at all. Free condoms, pill, implant, injection, patch, coil, free birth control for all!

So you guys have to pay? Just curious what are the prices then? And what do teenagers do then? :/

You pay whatever the co-pay is

Could be $1.10, or it could be $30 a month.

Teens are on thier parents health insurance and they pay the copays like everyone else

This is a tough question. I absolutely feel that our government should not be providing every woman with birth control. The government does not provide ANY medication to everyone for free. It's not their job. It would be more expensive and wasteful spending.

Birth control is not a necessary medicine. Is is 100% optional.
If you want birth control you pay for it. If you cannot afford it then you need to take the proper precautions in preventing an pregnancy you can't afford.

The hard part comes in when, like mentioned above, you end up paying of these children in the various welfare programs. Which we definitely can't afford either. I don't know where you draw the line really?
