There's no pain getting it out, it's just not the most comfortable feeling ever. I have a 4 (almost 5) year old son & a 2 year old daughter. I had the Mirena after my son...I got it removed in late May & found out I was preggo July 6! It happened quick...hoping for the same luck this time around!

FINALLY someone I can relate to! I just had mine removed almost exactly a week ago on the 12th. I got mine put in July 2009, and I've gained about 16/17lbs in the 3+ years I've had it. I never had a period with it in, just some monthly spotting the first year (for maybe 4-5 months). When I had it taken out last week my Dr. said I may not actually bleed for 3 months. Well, I'm thankful she was wrong.. I started a light period this past Monday and I'm still having some brown spotting. We're going to wait until January to TTC.. mainly because I want to have a few cycles beforehand to get my body "back to normal". I ordered some OPKs on Amazon a few days ago since I'm sure my cycle will be all out of whack.

I got mine taken out on the 9th and still have yet to see any sign of of my af.

oh wow...we are so alike... lol
I gained 13lbs with my daughter..then after I had her I lost it all plus some and then after the mirena It went up within 3 -4 months like 30lbs. lmbo
and I've gained about 20 more since then. I know I am to blame for some of it but I don't think it helped. Yea I got mine out the 15th and have been spotting or some type of light cycle since then. I had no cycle with it so I'm assuming this is a cyle.. I have no idea. lol
I am just going with the flow. We arent really trying yet but not preventing either. The night before I got it out we had unprotected. I've heard some women got pregnant that way because it can take 3 days for sperm to live. I don't know how true that is because of the lining being so thin. All I know is that this is it. One more child and im tieing my tubes..No mirena or nothing ever again for me.

My Dr. did not tell me that we had to wait to try but I see some people say theirs did. Did yours give you a timeline or period you should wait until you try?

Mine did not tell me. She said some of her patients get pregnant right away and it shouldn't stop any fertility.

I had spotting the day they took it out for about and hour and that is it but I would not consider that my AF. We have not been careful at all either becuase my SO is only home a few days a week due to work so we try whenever he is home haha

Hmmm yea that was probably just spotting. I've had something everyday since I had it out. Ugh wish there was a way we could tell things. If I had a cycle with the darn thing in I would of been a bit more prepared.

Any updates? Any body changes?

For some reason Ive had sore boobs, and thick/clear DC sometimes on occasions...also weird taste ..like when i lick my lips and etc... for the past two days... ugh..this is driving me NUTS!

I still have not gotten my AF yet which has me wondering wth is going on... if she still does not rear her ugly head by the beg of Nov I am going to test even though it does not seem possible... I am late as of when I had my last AF with the Mirena but still nothing so who knows what is going on... maybe it will take me awhile to get mine back?

and p.s. when I was expecting with my first everything tasted like pennies haha so maybe that is a good sign for you that you have a weird taste issue :-)
