How do you feel about military spouse getting free or reduced tuition?

Fair? Unfair?

I'm biased but its fair. Why wouldn't it be? A lot of people don't realize that amount of sacrifices a military spouse makes. Sometimes we have to put our careers and school goals on hold because its damn near impossible to start or finish a degree when you're moving around so much.

I'm not biased and I still think it's fair.

Are you talking about MyCAA? or?
Probably just saying this because I AM a military spouse, but fair. We don't make enough to put ourselves through college.

Probably MyCAA and sometimes certain colleges will offer us reduced tuition if we're military spouses. I filled out 3 college applications earlier this year, all of them asking if I was a military spouse for tuition purposes.

I mean, don't illegal immigrants get reduced fees or something? Considering I've heard of that happening, I don't see how anyone could complain about an american citizen getting reduced tuition. We have bigger fish to fry.

That is false.

I don't know all of the details about it, but everything I've read has indicated that they can very well go to college with at the very least the same in-state tuition as another student. (The Dream act? I believe that was part of it.)

Anyways, regardless of whatever the truth is there....I don't have a big issue with military spouses getting reduced fees. I don't plan on taking advantage of them, but if you do, cool.

I don't necessarily like it but I don't think it's a matter of fair or unfair. A lot of people don't make enough to put themselves through college so I don't think that's a very good argument for it. Military spouses give up a lot too but that's their choice when they marry a military man or woman. I guess I just don't really care? There are more important things to worry about.

I am not sure. The college SO and I are looking to enroll asked it.

I don't make enough to put myself through either.

Right, I agree. I'm actually not opposed to anyone having an easier time getting through college. I'd rather see someone pay less for college and end up with a degree and a good career than someone who didn't go and who has a harder tie finding work.

I don't see a problem with it. If your spouse is willing to allow you to use it, then use it.
