If we lived on base we'd get $68 a month. The guidelines must be really low here or something because you'd think my husband made bank by the way that convo went.

It goes off cost of living, rent/mortgage. They take a lot into consideration. I'm sure you don't "make bank"- they do deal with people who make nothing or not a whole lot and can be kind of rude. If you have any more kids, move, circumstances change you could reapply.

Yeah, shes going to hold on to our application in case we decide to move on base.

My dad was in the Navy and mom mother got full SSI for my sister ...she is deaf. Military gets basic pay....They are supposed to use his Basic pay ...nothing else. Have them recheck and redo that ...My husband is an E-6 in the Army and we live here in Alaska and My son gets SSI...a total of 221.00 a mo. My husband makes BANK!, so there is no reason you got denied... Get your husbands LES and try again...different worker and only allow them to count his basic pay...everything else is for the cost of living and is not considered countable income...... also bring in all your bills, grocery receipts,a printout of the standard cost of living for your state (get it from the local food stamp office) and all deductions from the income so they can see what is remaining after all expenses paid....

They probably did that. You have 5 kids and she only has 2, so that might be the reason you qualify for more. Although it never hurts to recheck.

I think it has to do with only having 2 kids. They count his BAS, bah, and sdap

Thank you ladies for replying! I've been wanting to get a new car for the girls because the one we have SUCKS (even though my SO doesn't believe so, he says we're not selling it because it's a good car and runs fine and every car we find we're going to have to put money into   we just had to buy a new starter, knock sensor, we've had to buy spark plugs every few months because they keep burning out, there isn't room for jack smurf in there. I want that car GONE lol)

Also, the rest (if we're approved, i'm pretty sure we will be but you never know lol) I was planning on spending all on her anyways, getting her a new carseat, clothes and learning things, and planning on putting a little towards rent for a new place because the place we live in sucks, the landlord we have is a scumlord douche bag, and I want a little nicer place for the girls.
