Ohhh wow, I have never heard that. and Congrats on the 20 lb loss, 20 lbs is a lot to me and on a 5'2 frame would make a big difference on me. Everyone around me is usually doing Atkins or Weight Watchers...I haven't ever tried it and I don't know much about it...maybe I should look into it. Any advice/tips/info you can give me about it?

I'm 5'2 also! Well, probably not quite, but I say that, haha.

I really like weight watchers. Everything you eat is given a point value based on their fat/carb/fiber/protein amounts. Then you have a number of points to eat a day (calculated based on your sex, your weight, and your height). Also, you're given 49 extra points a week to use if you want for anything you want, and you can turn activity points into food points. Stay under your point value and you're good!

I really like it. Like I said, I can use my extra points and stuff if I'm going out for a special dinner, or to have a piece of cake, or whatever I want. I never feel like I'm deprived, or missing out. Also, fruit adn veggies are 0 points. I started at 181 adn I'm at 162 or so now.

I've heard both good and bad about weight watchers - i looked up the reviews bc i was thinking about joining. it's a lot of discipline of watching your points, etc. If you have a center near by, I've heard from the reviews that being able to weigh in each week seems to benefit a lot more than just doing it online. but either way, i think it definitely helps to make you more aware of how much you eat versus how much you should eat.

It does take discipline to get used to writing down everything you eat, but nearly all plans require that. Even with atkins. You still track everything, you just track carbs. I do like the meetings and weigh ins. I find they keep people accountable. It's easy to blow off a diet when you're the only one who will know, but when you know you HAVE to weigh in on Tuesday, you're more likely to stick with the plan, haha.

I really like it. I've lost 20lbs recently, but the last tiem I think I lost closer to 40. I keep my tracker in the kitchen and just write down what I eat. Once you do it for a little while it becomes second nature.

Yeah its like if you do a weigh in thing with someone/group you are more likely to suceed and push yourself more. And from what you just described, WW does sound interesting, I will google it. Also, how long did it take to lose 20 lbs?

It took me a few months, but I've had a few set backs. I could have lost it a lot faster but I've had some medical problems during that time and had to cut out almost all my "work outs." Any week I'm on plan I lost 1-2lbs though. Here is a before and during:

Well thanks everyone for the input, let me get off here now and clean up and *maybe* have a cat nap before my girls get home from school.

THIS! Clean eating all the way. Stay away from processed foods. Shop the perimeter of the store. Lots of water and 5 to 6 small meals per day.

Liquid diet is also good to control the cholesterol level and burn the excess fat in body.
Water doiet such as vegetables soups, green tea, fresh fruits juices are more effective for the the weight reduction.
