It sucks when so many people are offended by it :/ i mean, it a natural thing. But to some , its gross or whatnot. Like the lady who was breastfeeding in my restaurant with her boob exposed. To me, it didnt bother me. But mu entire staff kept saying "ugh. Thats gross. She needs to cover it up"

Or if they want to be respectful of their SOs they can just not look.

trust me . i feel you but think about it, anybody who is not a mother is only gonna see a female with a baby sucking on her breast..so they are gonna stare as a natural reaction until they catch themselves. and then think about if baby rips its head away before you can cover your nipple up. Then you have just flashed somebody...most likely a minor because they will not stop lookin simply because the don't understand it yet

Before I had a child, I wasn't a mother and I was never offended by a woman nursing her child, in fact, I thought it was a beautiful thing.

I see girls prancing around in trashy outfits all the time with their boobs half out and their asses hanging out the bottom of their skirts or shirts, but me feeding my child is offensive? There's something wrong with that picture.

And even if LO rips her head back, her head is still covering my nipple unless someone is staring from the perfect angle.

I duck off but it's because I'm not comfortable. I admire women who are brave enough to do it anywhere and I hope I grow some balls before mine is old enough to question why we hide to nurse. It should be a totally normal thing.

What are these appropriate times? Appropriate times for me are when my son is hungry. I'm not going to make him starve because I'm in a public place.
And what about the respect for the nursing mother?

i think it's perfectly normal. babies gotta eat too! i personally would use a cover though if i were in public. i'd rather strangers not see "me"... ;) thats for the hubby and baby only lol.

I feel you!!!! and as far as them lil half naked bops running around... i cant stand 'em. ........but yeah, before i was a mom i thought it was a beautiful thing too, that is why i stared, because i wanted to see everything about it and learn, so i could do it for my kids when i had them...

I guess I must have been the only one who stared the first time my sister whipped out her big ole titty to BF my neice.

I was like
Her nipples were ginormous
but then I got used to it.

I think its normal curiosity and people just like making it into a big deal

oh no you got me wrong...feed baby in public when hungry but I think it is respectful to cover...bonding by lookin at baby and baby lookin at mommy should wait for private feedings is what i was saying... or a mom can get the cover i get, where you can see baby through the top and baby can see mom but still be covered
