Kik app.

How exactly does it work? I have verzion and MOST of my friends don't so I can't text them. Can I text/message them through that without it running up my bill? I don't have unlimited texting unless people are verizon.  

It's an app so yes you can message people and it won't count as texting and it won't run up your bill.

ETA: You can only message people who ALSO have the app. You use a username, so people don't have to have your phone number either, like if you want to message someone, but don't want to give them your phone number.

Perfection! lol. My best friend just moved to Utah and doesn't have verizon. I miss texting with her.  

Idk about that app. But Textfree is a app and you can text anyone (with or without the app) and it doesn't run up your bill.

It's great too because it shows you when messages are sent (s), delivered (d), and read (r), so you know if they've received it or seen it yet, plus it says when the other person is typing, so you know when they're writing something and there isn't all that confusion texting at the same time, not knowing the other person is trying to say something too.
