What does a recall have to do with whether or not epidurals can cause back problems?

The meningitis from steroids and epidurals were in multiple medications, there were I believe 42 medications that were affected, that doesn't mean they are all the same. And an epidural causing back issues has nothing to do with the dr not knowing what they are doing.

I think she was saying because of that they are the same. I think. I didn't understand much, I had to reread a few times.

I had a completely natural birth and it wasn't 100% by choice.
It was for a first time labour I suppose quite quick from the time my water broke to when my daughter was born it was around 9 hours and it wasn't.until around the final 3 hours that my contractions intensified.
I was at home for most of my labour I made it to the hospital about 45 minutes before my daughter was born so no time for any pain relief.
I never intended on having an epidural as it puts you in the "high risk" category, but I definitely wish I had some form of pain relief just to take tje edge off.

That this illness that is going around thats pastered all of the news is a reason for not wanting a epidural which the sterriod injections to soothe back pain which is administered near the spine which is causing the illness and in all reality it has nothing to do with the epidural for child birth and its been being told by several.of you which is crazy because if its going in the back its going in the back doesnt mean its the same meds but the needle in the back is most commonly used in child birth because only get the epidural sterriod injection when surgury isnt necessary or when you or insurance isnt covering it

Holy run on sentence.

NO ONE said ANYTHING about the recalled meds. Those aren't even used in epidurals for child birth.   Not even sure where you pulled that from.

Epidurals, used in child birth, CAN lead to back problems. Plain and simple.

I am trying to follow. Really, I am. This is a news article about the meningitis....http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/10/05/fda-expands-recall-list-tainted-injectable-medicines-linked-to-meningitis/ I still have no clue how you think they are the same thing.

Or why she thought anyone was referring to this in the first place..

Well the meds used for epidurals were recalled, but still lost a bit on how it relates, except she was trying use it to prove epidurals are the same as steroid injections used for chronic back pain I guess.

I was saying in my experience and everyone that has ever had it and ive known bout has never had a problem and that I dont understand how because everyone I know asks important question before someone touches back there... And I added that wgat is being said about these epidurals being infected is not true it scares people when they are given wrong information and than they feel obligated to go with something they dont want to she can make up her mind if she doesnt want the epi than more power to her she wants a epi but is given bad info than thats smurfed up

The last I saw, it wasn't epidurals that were used in child birth. But I haven't been keeping tabs.
