I thought you weren't allowed to leave the hospital until you had a BM... maybe that's just csections?

I would take something for sure... poor you!!   and eat some bran

I know what you mean! I had a C Section and it took me DAYS to poop lol! They gave me some stool softener, but it took a while to work. Congratulations on your baby! Mine was born on the 9th of last year!  

I didn't poop for 6 days pp with my first; BUT it was csection.
Take colace-it's safe if you're breastfeeding. It's just a stool softener.

I had a csection & they didn't need me to have a bowel movement before I left. I had to pass gas tho (they just wanna know that everything is working!)
Always fun when a nurse gets excited that you farted!

They didn't say I had to have one before leaving the hospital, but I didn't have a c-section so I don't know if it's different.

I was taking the Colace in the hospital but didn't get any when I got home. Should probably go out and get some, I feel fine and don't feel backed up but I'm sure it should have happened by now lol!

I would have died! I was discharged 48hours post-op with my first (didn't poop til day 6) & 4 days with my 2nd; but that was only cause he was in NICU so I was able to stay a few extra day. I pooped 2 days post-op with him; but I have the cherries my mom brought to thank for that! LOL

Oh my haha! They wanted me to pee for them right after I gave birth to make sure I could. I sat there for a while and the nurse stood there. After a couple minutes I told her she needed to leave because I can't pee (or do anything else) under pressure like that! Haha.

Colace!

I pooped for the first time today.... 48 hours later. Colace made it not so bad lol

I remember they gave me stool softners and I put them on the top of my car when we were putting the baby in the car and drove off with them still on top


I really could of used those!

just try a laxative and stool softner! it will happen   heh

LOL! I feel yah! I had to pee into a "hat" 3 times (to a certain line) before they would take out my IV cause I had a cathedar. I totally enjoyed calling the nurse to show her my urine  

I think it's normal.. After I had DD, it took me 10days to have a BM. I thought there was something wrong with me lol I didn't have a C-Section either.

That makes me feel a little better because I'm on day 6 and I don't feel anything.. haha.

it's been 7 days since i've given birth & i still haven't pooped. they told me i had to pee before i left the hospital but i seriously couldn't due to damage of my urethra. my mum ended up peeing in the pot for me, & it turned out i still couldn't leave because the doctor didn't check my little girl over when they were meant to. unfortunately i am now pee'ing (i say unfortunately because it bloody hurts my urethra, my daughter really did i wonder on me when she decided to come out!)
