He refuses to let me spoon feed him. The only way he will eat is if he can pick it up himself or out of a sippy cup or bottle. He's only 8 months old. Is this normal??

Yep. Very normal.
Google baby led weaning.
My boys have never been spoon fed.

Yup my dude is 8 months and we barely get to feed him. He wants to do it himself. Luckily we do BWL so we just let him pick up his food himself

My son does it too.
I just give him the baby food pouches. *shrug*

Normal my daughter is the same way.

Normal and I've read it's better for them to feed themselves

Glad I am not alone in this. (: I give him finger foods and other stuff he can eat without chocking on so I am not worried about him going hungry I just want to make sure he is getting the nutrients he needs.

Ive introduced snacks and table food..
Some kids just know what they want. Its good theyre like that, causes less issues later.

The first year they need their nutrients primarily from formula and breastmilk so no worries there
