Someone posted on FB about how she got a comment that her son "had that autism" look one of her friends commented that while rude there was a study out there saying something similar

It's funny, now that I think of it awhile back I read that it seems that the brains (and heads) of children with autism grow more rapidly in infancy than their non-autistic peers and then later in life they slow down growth when their peers' are growing more rapidly. I wonder if maybe this could be the reason for some of the similarities in appearance?

I'm surprised some of you guys can see it in your own children. I really can't see it. Maybe the wide set eyes in some, after it's pointed out, but nothing I would ever notice on my own for sure. They just look like cute kids to me.

So I looked at the girl I suspect in my class and she definitely has those features. She looks very similar to te pics posted on here and I grew I see the eye similarity. I think it's adorable though!!!

How many of you mamas have children or someone you know with aspergers? I am almost certain she is on the high function part o the spectrum but I'm afraid the social worker coming to Observe her next week is gonna think we're crazy cause some of her issues are hard to notice unless you spend some time with her and realize how badly they affect her. So I wanted to pm someone her tuned navies to see if they thought they aligned with a high functioning form of autism.

I don't have a child on with Autism but Billy's aunt is a nationally recognized figure in the field and she's a damn God-send to the families she works with. Because of her, I know about 50 or so children with wide ranging severity. Many are high functioning and many are very severe. I feel pretty knowledgeable on the subject because of her.
