Feeding?
posted 14th Oct
My baby girl will be 2 Weeks tomorrow and I'm breastfeeding. In the hospital they told me to feed her every 2 hours as well as everytime she wants to eat in between that. Well for the past few days she has wanted do sleep and eating every 3 to 4 hours sometimes. Is that bad to let her sleep and feed her when she's ready instead of waking her up and fighting her to stay awake during the whole feeding?

No it's not bad. If she's tired let her sleep.

watching.
my sons 2 weeks as well and he does the sleep for 3-4ish hours and wakes up to eat. Except for the past few days he has been cluster feeding. So far though since we have been home from the hospital I have been letting him eat when he wants to eat. My DH actually got quite upset at the hospital because they would have me try and BF when he didnt seem hungry at all so then they would give him similac and that just upset him to no end. He said that DS would eat when he wants to and forcing him to eat wont do a thing.

o it aint bad at all, if you wake her for a feed she will get used to it and you do not want that, let her sleep and feed her when she wants to be fed, it will work out better for you as-well xx

Ok thank you! They would look at me all worried when I didn't force her to eat every 2 hours if she wasn't hungry in the hospital so I have been feeling like a bad mommy for letting her sleep and wait.

no! don't think that, if you were a bad mum you wouldn't ask about if you should keep waking her up for a feed, with my child im having now im going to be trying to get out of the hosp to do everything my way, because at the end of the day its your child you know best.... and i believe that some of these doctors and nurses dont even have children and they are trying to tell us how to bring them up.... they learn there stuff in books we learn from dealing with it even still when they sleep it means there growing i got told by someone xx

Unfortunately I was stuck in the hospital for 3 days after she was born because I had an emergency c section. So for the first couple days at home she was used to every 2 hours but now she likes to sleep
