Well as this is your first post. There are probably about a million of these Castor Oil discussions. There is a search bar at the top right of the page that allows you to look to see previous discussions on the same topic as this and probably every other question imaginable about pregnancy, labor, and parenting.

After you've read about a 1/2 million of these, you don't care anymore whether you're rude or not.  

u know that the baby is not all the way developed yet like the lungs dont get fully ready for out side life tell like 39 weeks trying to speed up your labor could be very harmful to your child if i was u i just suck it up and deal with it i have sleepless nights and moodiness over things that just dont matter look it up its normal there is better ways at fixing the problem than speeding labor up look up online way to help u sleep (but think when the babys here your going to go more nights with out sleep part of having an infant) and the moodiness well u just have to learn to breath and not let things bug u honestly

You're killing me!

There is evening primrose oil. That is healthier but you shouldn't start it till 39- 40 weeks. My doctor told me about it. It doesn't start labor. It just softens the cervix. But you would take the pill 3 times a day and then at night poke it with a sterile needle and put it in the vagina over night. Wear panty liners or pads the next day though. Just a suggestion for an alternative.

I can not believe how many women are being rude to you every women has her reasons for being anxious about baby getting here I personally have tried castor oil 3 times and it did not work for me but if your body is ready for labor than it can work.. you wont have the poos on the delivery table because usually contractions start after you finish having the poos because thats what causes the contractions (the irritation of your soft tissue muscles ) baby is also full term at 37 weeks so your baby will be fine make sure you drink TONS of water though cause it can cause dehydration..alot of midwives recommend castor oil to their patients so you know its safe...

first, full term is 40 weeks.
second castor oil is dangerous to take. it can cause hard contractions that do nothing but stress the baby. that will cause the baby to pass meconium in utero. no bueno.
third, just because she's 37 weeks, doesn't mean baby is ready. please tell that to my 2 40+ weekers who were in the NICU. thanks.

37 weeks is considered full term they wont stop contractions there is no proof that castor oil MAKES baby pass meconium the normal women that tried castor oil is usually past their due date and babies past their due date tend to pass meconium in the womb anyway.....REGARDLESS SHES ASKING A SIMPLE QUESTION THEIR IS NO NEED TO BE RUDE TO ANY WOMEN ON HERE ITS PETTY AND MAKES WOMEN AFRAID TO EVEN ASK QUESTIONS...

No, not every woman is anxious for their baby to come, I was not anxious at all when all my children came early, 21 weeks, 35 weeks and 27 weeks........and 37 weeks is term and they will stop your labor and 40 weeks is full term, any doctor that says otherwise is a moron and should lose his license
