I think if I didn't live in an apartment I would have a home birth, but since I don't feel comfortable enough to do it in my home I'm having mine at a birth center. The next best thing.

That's a million times cheaper than it would've been for me to deliver in the hospital. Ended up finding a birthing center that was only 3k, sooooo good.

i have tricare so it costs us nothing to deliver in a hospital. I looked into a birthing center but the closest is 2 and half hours away and they denied me. So my only other option since assisted home birth is illegal in NC was to find a midwife willing to do it; and she charges 4 grand

Oh.   I bet it'd be well worth it though.

I'm paying my midwife 6900, but she's awesome. Wouldn't have it any other way.

first time i posted it it said it didnt post. so yeah sorry! home births can be a bit pricey but if you talk to a midwife they do have payment plans. mine is going to cost roughly 3000. shes the same one to deliver my son 2 years ago, so I am pretty excited. my sons birth was used for educational purposes as well as this one will be.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! I think everyone deserves the chance to not deliver in a hospital, if that's what they want. More freedom, less/no medical interventions. Birthing like women have for thousands of years.

thanks girl. and amen to that! I wish I could get that birthing center   one of the L&D nurses told me that two of the rooms in the hospital have baths... so worst case I can hope to get one of those rooms. I just hated birthing in a hospital and now that I have DS my anxiety is going to be through the roof about leaving him and being stuck there for 2 days again. I just want to be home with my family
