home births

I am having my SECOND home birth in just a few weeks. I'm due December 9th, but if I am lucky I'll go sooner. I want to know if anyone else is planning on a home birth.

More like a few 7 weeks.

It is so worth it! my friends think I am crazy for doing it but i wouldnt have it any other way. i had a great midwife with my son and im lucky to be able to have her again. good luck to you as well! my first labor wasnt quick or easy so hopefully this one will be better. best wishes.

Get out of what? My emotioncon? And what did you get out of yours?

We are doing a UC. Ready to go and just on the countdown. 3 1/2 weeks left till I can allow him to come.  

Just had an unassisted birth a week ago :-)
Was supposed to have a midwife but she couldn't make it in time :-)

Good luck to all planning this, it is such a special way to give birth and bring baby into the world.

my first birth wasnt a planned home birth. i had just moved into a new area and went into labor 2 weeks early. i was lucky enough to know someone who worked with midwives at a university and hooked me up. within hours i went from thinking i was going to a hospital to going right back home. i wasnt too educated about home births and just went with it. now that i know a bit more its all i want to do. so far with only a few bumps in the road this time around is PLANNED as much as it could be. i love being able to be home after. sleep in my own bed. hospitals give me the willies. not my thing.

Agreed plus you walk in the doors and you aren't a human being anymore you are medical procedure that has no rights. IMO scary I rather have a say and be comfortable.

exactly... i know some people like the hospital b/c they feel safer there but really, i am more scared of having to go to the hospital than any pain i will endure! on top of that i am against vaccinations and in a hospital setting the baby isnt allowed to leave without, what is it? the special k shot? idk.. screw that. my son is 2 years old and the healthiest child i know. never sick, not a single shot, immune system above average. I'm not changing anything.
