I don't want another child for a LONG long time, if even at all. I got pregnant so fast with my second that i didn't have time to enjoy them while they were little, so this is what i'm doing this time around. I told DH if we do end up having another kid i want to have bought a house and our other kids be in school.

That sounds like a good plan.

I graduated at 16, a month after my first was born... I was in the process of emancipation, had an apartment of my own and worked as a private caregiver for a man with a degenerative disease as well as being in college. By the time I had my second we had been living in our apartment for nearly a year, I had been working at the same job making good money and my husband had joined the military. It's doable. You never know.

She's 16.
Chances are she is living off her parents and has not graduated high school yet. I'm sure she can barely provide for herself, let alone herself and two children.

it is doable

but not common. You're the first person I've ever talked to who was emancipated.

I'd still bet good money that OP is living off her parents and probably dropped out of school. That is statistically the more common scenario

I'm sure it is doable but having 2 children, or even 1 child, at 16 years old isn't ideal. Being able to provide is just ONE aspect of why being a teen mother isn't that great of an idea.

Of course it's hard... being a parent at any age is hard, too.
I'm going to totally feel like an ass if she is just some loser looking for attention and mooching off of her family- but hey, I figured I would give her the benefit of the doubt before passing judgement.

You were a very rare 16 year old. Good for you for stepping up and taking responsibility for yourself and your little ones. Unfortunately, that rarely happens...

Lol my last pregnancy was by far the hardest. I was in pain 24/7 and pretty miserable, plus i made up a plan and want to get there first before anything else. We didn't really get to do much after we got married since i got pregnant a year later, so i'm sure we plan on doing that a little before we have anymore kids. Plus DH wants to go to school to be a mechanic and i'm still trying to figure out what i want my career to be, because once i start i don't want to change it. So obviously i want to do something i really enjoy.

I never even got emancipated. I had filed and was waiting all the while applying for apartments and basically told my parents "I can't sign a lease on my own. I'm not going to let you support me. You can either sign the lease with me, or I just wait for the emancipation to go through and sign it myself." They signed with me. I never bothered taking my emancipation to court.

We just had our third... well, he's 6 months old now, but I can not decide if we are done. I don't think we'd want another until LO is at least in kindergarten- but I'm pretty content with three. This last pregnancy was MISERABLE. The other two were a breeze. I feel like after waiting 2 years to TTC, this one should have been easier being that my body had time to heal, but I suppose not. I hear it only gets worse!
