Mirena removed

This will be a post and run because our dinner is almost ready buuuuut.

I had to have my Mirena removed Friday night at the ER because for the past six weeks I was in severe lower abdominal pain. My cramps were bad and if I felt for the strings I would have pain shoot across to each ovary. So they took it out. When they removed it there was no sign of it trying to dig into me or anything. The pain I was having was almost instantly gone and hasn't come back.

Well tonight I went to go pee and found a good amount of blood in my undies (tmi sorry) I figured it was normal but then again I haven't had a period at all since getting it in (I got it in April '12) So I am trying to figure out if I am having a period OR if I am just spotting from it's removal.

Also how much blood would be "normal" from it being removed? I have read about woman having severe bleeding issues.

Weight loss? Were you able to lose more weight since getting it out?

If I think of more questions I will add them.

I am wondering if this is actually a period or not. Since we plan on TTC soon I want to track but its so confusing. Its been 1.5yrs since I had a period

Withdrawal bleeding. That's what that is. Had mine removed in January. And had that bleeding. Lost 15lbs and was under my pre preg weight! That bc was a pain in the ass. Got pregnant 3 months later after my first REAL period which I had beginning of April. But that initial bleeding is withdrawl

But thank you so much for your info. I went to the doctor today since it was schedule for my yearly exam and she gave me all this BS about how weight loss shouldn't be bothered from the mirena yada yada. She also gave me a "general" guideline for nutrition when I told her I breastfeed and would like something more for a breastfeeding woman. I am just going to go off what I can read online from others instead of being given the same BS from a doctor.
