Seriously. I was soooo upset and frustrated that nothing I tried worked. Luckily, I had a smooth, fast, easy induction.

But seriously, this post is bullsmurf. All it's going to do is scare people who need it, because people who don't aren't going to read it anyway.

Quoting ☮Sugar Magnolia:" Well, some people need pitocin..   Way to scare anyone who's about to have a medically necessary induction, ... [snip!] ... in for my necessary induction I would have been way more scared than I already was. Much much safer than Cytotec, at least.. "

often both are necessary. With correct monitoring... cytotec is safe too.

OP.. another thing... external monitoring... is most definitely accurate... if the nurse uses her brain. It tracks baby's heart rate. However.. internal monitoring..... does NOT cause pain to either mom or baby... and unless the dr is drunk when inserting it.. ther'e no smurfing way it went into a baby's eye!

of couse it's not... it's a synthetic form of what your body naturally produces to cause labor.

She's probably some 17 year old who think she's some Earth momma representative trying to convince people that health care in the 1700's was sooooo much better than it is today.

You must be new here.

Uh, there are thousands of reasons an induction can be necessary.
Your source is inaccurate. Find something that's not using scare-tactics and instead using legitimate sources.

B had that too-the fetal monitoring on her head.   The tiny cut on her head didn't go away for like 3 weeks. :/

All 4 of my kids were born using Pitocin. I wanted them to be born on certain days, so I ws induced. I went into knowing it would hurt more than going naturally (which wasnt an option for me). Honestly...it wasnt that bad. If I had anymore (which please, God, I dont want more kids), I would use Pitocin again. Those warnings you listed can happen with any form of medicine.

Oh what so suddenly you don't think those smurfing things you listed apply to women having medically necessary inductions? Do some smurfing research before you decide to post smurf like this amongst scared young women.

that's considered medically necessary though. If your labor stalled, and didn't progress, you would be at increased risk of infection.

I actually am new to the parenting world, I read this and figured I would share. I am open minded and would love to learn more about what everyone has to say as long as we're not being malicious.

lol, you apparently have NOT been on BG long enough.

there are few truly elective inductions these days. And, with close monitoring, nothing wrong with pitocin... as I've said.. it's a synthetic form of oxytocin... which your body produces anyway.

Maybe you shouldn't post smurf unless you've actually bothered to research the facts first.
