Dear god
If what your giving him doesn't work, take him to the doctor/ER. That smurf looks SCARY.

Ouch. I'd take him to the doctors. That looks so sore. I'd say either an allergic reaction, or bites of some sort.

It looks like bug bites! Do you possibly have a way mosquitos are getting into your house- maybe they're caught in his sheets/clothes. or possibly even bed bugs?
Has he had the chicken pox yet/did he get the vaccine? Not sure what those look like for sure, but if they itch/hurt it could be that too?
I would contact your pediatrician if you haven't yet, they'd have a better idea, and hopefully a way to provide some relief!

I honestly cannot tell but I would definitely go to the ER or your pedi's weekend walk in clinic. Especially if benadryl hasn't helped after 24 hours!!

It loos like it could be chicken pox but other pics look like hives..

If you have baking soda run a warm bath and add that in and in a bowl make a paste and apply that to the rash it should help relieve the itching for a little bit.

my one year had a similar rash its was called hand foot and mouth disease its was contagious, The rash covered her body, she itched and said they hurt it started on her body and eventually went to her mouth it took about a month to clear up they told me to give her oatmeal bath and not to use the normal body or hair soap we used or lotion.

I don't think it's chicken pox because the bumps look wrong for that. From what I can tell at least
