Well Sept 28th 2012 I had my usual weekly check up. I had an ultrasound to see if he gained any weight and he only gained a few ounces, but the ultrasound tech said it could be off a few. So I wait to see my OB and he comes in to check me and then hands me papers saying I need to take these to L&D because we would be having the baby within 24 hours. Shocked, nervous, and excited I call my mom to let her know to be ready. I get a hold of my boyfriend and let him know, he's going frantic and can't think clearly. I get up to L&D and get all checked in and hooked up to everything. They give me a pill to help dilate me and soften my cervix. My contractions were coming every 10 minutes and wern't very strong. 3 hours later they check me again and I've showed no improvement. So they give me another pill. Soon the nurses come in telling me the baby didn't like me sitting up so they told me to lay on my side and gave me oxygen. Then out of no where, this other nurse gave me a shot to stop my contractions. Next thing I know I'm being rushed to the O.R. where I have to have an emergency c-section. I guess with the little contractions I was having, his heart rate was dropping. When they got me in the room they couldn't find his heart beat and I remember thinking to myself "God let him live instead of me if anything shall happen."
At 4:35 pm I had my beautiful baby boy!
5 pounds even 18 in long.
the cord was wrapped around his neck due to the contractions. the reason they wanted to induce me was because he was only measuring 35 weeks when I was 39. Reason for this is was because the cord was smaller then normal size and that caused him to not get enough nutrition. But thankfully we are well and healthy.
